Yoga

I teach Hatha Yoga which is also known as traditional or classical yoga.  This practice is truly the foundation of every style of yoga. And, the basis for accomplishing anything in life comes from creating a solid foundation.

I was trained in a little town outside of Mysore, India.  It was there where I not only learned the basics of powerful yoga poses but also that  Yoga is -"The path to self realization."  Yoga in sanskrit is pronounced YUJ which means “to yolk”.  Yoga not only allows us the opportunity to weave our inner and outer worlds together.  It also allows our spirit to connect to others, proving that we are all just one beat, one vibration on this planet.

Having a yoga practice since 2008 and teaching the gift of this practice since 2016, I've discovered that the sweet spot for a one-on-one session is a 75 minutes with an opening meditation, surya namaskara (sun salutation) warm-up, and holding postures for a minimum of 20 seconds for beginners. And then working up to holding each posture for a longer time while syncing the breath during the progression of the practice.

This is a wonderful, healing practice for people who desire to create space and quiet time in a bustling hectic metropolitan area like New York and New Jersey. Hatha yoga allows clients to connect with themselves on a deeper level.
